Confessions of a Teen Procrastinator

Hello everyone:

So the other day, I was with my friends and we were talking about procrastination. It is something that really bothers me, specially when I’m doing homework. Today I’m gonna tell you the TOP 10 Confessions of a Teen Procrastinator. I also want to see if you guys relate because I think that I’m not the only one:

But before making the confessions, what’s a procrastinator?:

A procrastinator is a person who delay things like homework, projects… They do whatever (not matter if it’s boring or not) instead of getting work done. Procrastinators make sure they don’t get work done until the very last moment.

That’s my personal definition. This is pretty much a procrastinator in my opinion. So let’s do the confessions:

TOP 10 Confessions of a Procrastinator.

I always eat about 5 minutes after getting started with my homework.

Like: I start doing homework, I begin to write, I look around, I see some apples and then I start eating. Seriously, am I the only human being who does this? Do you do this as well? Like, I can’t focus; it’s really hard! And also, when I eat fruit instead of doing homework, it feels like the fruit tastes better than usual. Like what?!

I drink coffee while doing homework, then I just drink coffee.

I love to drink coffee. Sometimes I drink while doing homework to “help me focus” but as it seems it doesn’t help. Like: I prepare myself a coffee, I drink coffee while doing homework, I fall in love with the coffee and can’t stop drinking coffee. I automatically stop doing homework. I even forget I was doing homework sometimes.

I start talking alone instead of doing homework.

Everybody thinks stuff while doing homework. You know…things that happen during day, crushes, friends… Well sometimes I remember funny things and start laughing. I even start a conversation with myself about funny memories! Then I remember I was doing homework and stop laughing.

I watch YouTube videos.

Remember when I said I laugh at things? Well some of them are YouTube videos. Yeah, I grab my iPad and watch them all!!! I even watch some new videos in the suggestions!!!!! Yeah, that takes about hour and half. If procrastination was an Illness, I would be dead right now.

I think about my crush.

Every time I start thinking about my crush, I leave over my homework for like half an hour!!! One hour of daydreaming about my crush!!! My crush, as some of you may know is my hot teacher (he’s my science teacher) sometimes I procrastinate while studying science!!!!!!! I am dumb.

I look through the window.

My house has really cool views…Well I always look through the window and start staring at people that walk down the street. The other day I saw my crush walking down the street from my window and OMG…I finished my homework at 21:30. True story.

I talk with my mom.

Sometimes, when my mom is in the living room when I’m doing homework, I go to the living room and start talking to her. Then few minutes later she asks me: Have done your homework? And I’m like: I’m almost done. (which means I have a lot to do still)

I make bubbles with gum.

I chew gum whilst doing homework because as it seems studies have shown that chewing gum makes your brain release a hormone that helps you studying. I chew gum ever since I knew that. But sometimes I start making bubbles with gum until I break my record of the biggest bubble gum. I’m dumb (again).

I check notifications.

I know I shouldn’t but sometimes I take my phone with me when I do homework. Sometimes I get notifications and just stop focusing on homework. I check my blog’s likes, comments, new followers… My phone wants me to fail my tests. (But for real though, I actually get good marks.)

I read blogs.

Sometimes I read some of your wonderful new posts when I’m supposed to do homework!!! But you guys are worth it!!!
