25 Period Questions Answered by a 15 Year-Old

Greetings peeps!

I hope you’re having an awesome day! So I’ve been thinking about making this post for a REALLY long time and now I finally have the time and guts to do it! Yaaay let’s do it!

So as a 15 year old and considering girls are getting their periods effing early, I consider myself qualified enough to answer period questions.

Aaaaand before you think I’m not qualified for dis, lemme tell ya I got ma period at 11 and got a good grade on a biology test about periods. #DeyCallMeDeBio 😛

So I googled period questions and chose some of them to answer them here, yaay! I didn’t google all of them, some are mine.

25 Period Questions answered by a 15 year-old:

DISCLAMER:

I’m not saying I’m an expert about any of this. I’m not a gynecologist, nor a biologist, nor a doctor, nor a mum, nor an adult – but I’m a girl and I have the period, so at least I can make people know more about how it feels and things people never talk about that may be important.. and exist.

  • Yahoo answers:

Do you get blood running down your legs?

Yes, if you’re not wearing panties or if your period was overflowing and you were standing.

How do you know when you have it?

It depends on the person, some people ovulate right before getting their periods, some people get cramps, some have the so called PMS (Pre-Menstrual Syndrome)… Sometimes you can even get the symptoms and not get your period at all. 😱

How long is a girls period?

Again, it depends. Some last 4 days, some 5, some 7 days and some over a week!!

How painful are period cramps?

Sometimes they hurt more, sometimes less, sometimes they’re bearable and sometimes you they hurt so much you can’t be in any position other than the fetal one.

Does having your period smell?

Always, it’s just sometimes you can smell it and sometimes you don’t, but pads do smell.

Does having your period hurt?

I know how weird this is gonna sound but sometimes, for some miracle reason, it doesn’t hurt at all; it doesn’t hurt before, nor during, nor after. It’s really weird, but it can happen.

Is it ok to have a shower/bath while on my period?

This is a very stupid question, of course it is!!!! 😤😤 Shower, people, for the love of god!

How much blood do I loose?

It depends a lot. Some women bleed like a paper cut *ok maybe I exaggerated* and some bleed like they’ve been cut by half.

Can I get pregnant during my period?

Lol this one I don’t know it from personal experience, but 2 years ago, one of my classmates asked the same question to the biology teacher and he said it could happen, it was very rare, but it can happen. It can happen because not all women ovulate in the middle of the period cycle, some ovulate just before their period, during or just after, so they can conceive.

These are questions asked by men.

What’s in with period panties?

Some women don’t wanna stain deirr fave panties, so they have ugly panties for when the time comes. 💁‍♀️

What does the pain feel like?

Idk how other women feel it, but to me it’s like someone put 5 kilos in your womb and squeezed it really hard. Hugs! 🦄

Again, questions from men.

Can you feel it leaking out?

Yeah, you feel something warm coming out from your private part. Sometimes you can also feel blood clots, they feel like you’re pooping, but you don’t have to push, it just comes out. And instead of poop it’s like jelly. Warm jelly.

Tasty! 🤢🤮

It’s not blood exactly – what does that mean?

I mentioned it before. Blood clots.

Do you feel discomfort?

Your hooha hurts, bleeds and feels warm things in it, of course you feel discomfort!!

How heavy of a flow is too heavy?

It depends on a girl’s opinion, every girl thinks their flow is normal, but not all women bleed the same. To me, too heavy means filling a 30cm night pad in few hours during the day.

  • My questions:

How do you know when it’s ending?

To me, I think it’s ending when I begin to bleed less and have less symptoms.

Do you leak out when your in the shower?

No, you don’t. For some reason, water stops it from coming, but once you get out of the shower, you begin to bleed almost instantly. It sucks because you’re naked, you bleed your legs and you just showered.

Does pee come red too?

Most times, because your butt-period-pee areas’ muscles are contracting.

Is period blood the same as normal blood?

Not really, it’s actually thicker. It’s mixed with mucus *cause together, they make up the endometrium*, blood clots and other shtuff.

When exactly do you get cramps?

Few days before and the first few days, at least to me.

Does it hurt all the time?

It depends on the period. Sometimes your womb and vagina *dude, it’s so hard to write that word on a blog post, eww* hurt like they’re sore like, permanently – and sometimes not. Also, cramps can last from few seconds to few HOURS!

Does the vagina also hurt?

Yeah, sometimes. As you’re expelling shtuff, it opens, so that hurts.

Are butt cramps related to it?

They are. Actually, your hooha cavity opens and all that, your butt-period-pee are muscles are moving and they become tense. The tension causes you to have butt cramps. It doesn’t happen to everyone though. I get them sometimes, but I know who have never had them.

Do periods synchronize?

No. At all. A lot of people think they do, but it must be a rumor or stereotype. I guess periods could synchronize, but that would have to be a mere coincidence. Me and my mom have never synchronized and I’ve never heard that from anyone.

It’s a freaking lie!!

Do you bleed at night?

Yep, not as much as you bleed in the day, cause you’re sleeping horizontally, but yeah, you bleed as well.

🚽🚽🚽

Btw I made a youtube video where I cut my own hair for the first time ever, hope you like it :3

Share your thoughts with me?

Well um… the more you know, I guess.

Do you get questions like this? Are you a woman? Man? When did you first get your period? Do you like talking about periods? How do you feel about them? Tell meeeeeeeeee

I hope you liked this post as much as I liked making it! I hope to make more period posts! I hope you have an amazing day/night and week! Now I’mma go study biology *for real*

Massive hugs!

  4. Oooh, I get my period cramps sooooooooooo bad, yeah, I have to be in the fetal position. I had my period while getting braces and believe it or not, the braces hurt more than the cramp 🙂 (why is that a good thing) When I can’t get in my position, I have to roll around the whole place. My dad is very nice during this time, he doesn’t ask questions, and gets me all the sweet things I want, cause they help. I love it when I have periods (okay that was weird, but lemme complete the sentence) cause there are days when I just am on my recliner, chilling with Oreos, a blanket and watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Awesome! *seriously, tho, i hurts af*

Your dad gives you sweets? That’s so cool!
And yeah, periods have good things, I actually kind of don’t mind the period lol 😛

  5. Haha hey! Your answers were a little off, but they were hilarious and all your disclaimers made it so. So your periods may not sync up with other people’s (jury’s still out on that one), but they used to sync up with the phases of the moon. People say that if you have bad cramps, it’s because your period is so far out of sync with the moon. That might be a load of crap, but whatever. I love your blog’s design and I recommend reading “Cunt” by Inga Muscio. It’s a hardcore feminist book about women’s health. Some parts were too extreme for me to get behind (around the end), but there’s a lot of good info in there and I WISH I read it at 15. Have a bomb day! 🙂

    • Really? Thank you!!! I’m glad it was funny, I didn’t wanna make it to serious! 😛 And oh yeah I’ve heard they have to do with the moon phases, I just never really understood that.
Awwwww thank you, I’m so happy you like my blog design!!!!!!! 😀 ❤
And thanks so much for the recommendation, it means a lot!!!!! 😀
      Have an amazing day too!!!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 ❤
