Greetings peeps!
I hope you’re all having a great day! Today we’re talking about health in this post! I feel like I don’t talk about PCOS as much as I would like to, so today we’re talking about that!
There are negative things obviously about PCOS and all, but there are things we can laugh off, right? RIGHT?
le tea: PCOS + Summer
Ok so we all know that getting your period in summer is one of the grossest things women can go through. *I actually made a post on this last year, link here* And PCOS doesn’t men it’s grosser necessarily, but it can be a bit different.
Irregularity of periods:
Ok so if you’re a teen and you don’t have a job or anything, this might not be that big of a problem, as you’re free to stay at home while on your period and you don’t have to go somewhere compulsorily.
Now if you go on vacation… I wish you luck.
The thing is you never know when your next period is coming, like, maybe in a month? But most probably not. It can be in a month and half, 2 months, 3 months, 2 weeks, tomorrow…
And yes, even if your period just ended, you can get it again in few days. PCOS doesn’t follow logic nor science, okrrr?
So if you don’t know when you’re getting it, you can’t plan when to go to the pool, to the beach, to a nudist beach, to a water park… It sucks. You can only trust your instinct, which not always works but oh well.
Heavyness and all the grossness:
Another symptom of PCOS is having heavy periods. *sigh*
So yeah, you can either put on a huge tampon *idk if that’s how it works, I’m scared of tampons* or a huge effing pad. The thing is there’ many activities you can’t do because of how heavy it is. The discomfort is real.
How many times has this happened to me?
I remember when I was 13 there was a cool hiking trip that lasted only a day that I couldn’t go to because of my cramps and the heaviness. I hate it, you can’t do anything!!!!!
HAIR!!!
I mean, you can always shave or trim, right? The thing is because you’re so freaking hairy, it takes you 3 times what it would take a normal person to go hairless. That takes a long time and dedication my friend.
How many times have I not gone to places cause I hadn’t shaved?
I remember when I was 14 my grandma had planned to inflate this cool pool to spend that afternoon with me and my cousin. She told me that was the plan that very day. I obvs hadn’t shaved and didn’t have time to.
I told her I couldn’t cause I hadn’t shaved and she was like: What’s the problem? I was like: Hair She was like: No one cares, get in that pool and have some fun, come on!
I didn’t do it in the end. She didn’t know how hairy I was and I didn’t wanna scare her nor my by that time 8 year old cousin. I’m a good person lmao
