New Year, New Decade | with Kiya!!

Greetings peeps!

Hiiiii I hope you’re all having a great day!!!!! Whoah, it’s like 2020 is around the corner but we’re still here and we still have some days left and it’s a weird feeling lemme say

You may know yesterday I did a collab with Nad about this ending decade, now today let’s talk about the next one! *well, actually next one and this one a little bit*

I have the amazing and really good friend of mine Kiya @ FlawedSilence *who I’ve known through blogging since 4 years ago, what?* to talk about this!!!! Check out her blog btw, she’s a very talented writer!!!

New Year, New Decade with Kiyaaaa

Is there anything you wanna start this year?

i want to learn how to see the world in colour again, and in more than one shade of black and white, with perhaps warmers tones to everything.  but also be able to appreciate and gain strength from the thunderstorms, and continue to rise above bitterness and resentment, and not give into the temptation of not caring, indifference and defeat.

Do you think this next decade is gonna be good? (Whether personally or globally in general)

i think that depends on what we take away from the previous years, and whether we choose to apply the newfound knowledge and experience in a productive and constructive manner. i think it also depends on whether we choose to keep our hearts open, speak a universal language of love, acceptance and justice, and think with open minds to all narratives. and perhaps, remember, to be human is to be selfless and speak up for everyone and not chase after personal gain.

How do you see this next year when it comes to your blog? Are you starting a new series?

i shall continue to sporadically post poems and other creative shenanigans to my blog and insta account. also open to doing more collabs, so hit me up if you fancy doing one with me

Are you doing anything outside of blogging next year? (Like YouTube, tiktok…)

i hope to start learning and exploring the world of photography and editing more. and branch out in artistic styles when it comes to doodling.

What are you looking forward to this year? (Again, personally or globally)

i look forward to the moment where i can reflect back on the past year and think, yeah, i got through that and that. and i thought i couldn’t do this and that but i have. and it felt like that but it no longer does. to basically look back in a couple of months and be able to acknowledge and be proud of myself for overcoming certain challenges. to be able to see the self-growth and be like yeah girl, you did it.

Where do you see yourself at the end of the next decade?

oof, what a question…the only thing i know for sure is that i’ll be 30…and crikey that does that sound intimidating.

Is there anything you learned that you think is gonna help you go through the next decade?

hmm…most things are temperamental in life. people come and go, and you get torn apart over that, but you’re better than that, to stay where you’re unwanted, or want someone to stay when their future no longer includes you. burning yourself out by throwing yourself into studies, work, socialising, hobbies,  just to fill empty voids aren’t the most effective way to get better at life things. sometimes, you need to look after yourself first.

What were your most important/favorite events from this year/decade?

leaving sixth form helped shape my character and help me figure out what i’m capable of. it’s also pushed me out of my comfort zone and given me so many different opportunities that have only allowed me to grow as a person. opening my heart up to certain people gave me unforgettable memories that will be treasured forever, and at the same time, distancing myself and closing chapters with certain people, allowed myself peace of mind and a more healthy environment to vibe in. forming tight friendships with the people who are now my favs will always be my favourite events from the past decade. it’ll always be the first memories to come to mind when reflecting on the past few years. the people in it. and the memories made.
