Mega Easy Graphic Design Tutorial!

HI GUYS!

I hope you’re having a good day. And I apologize for not having a graphic design tutorial, a lot of you have been requesting this since JANUARY and I’m really sorry for not having done it!

But here I am today *late AF* to show you how to do a very easy type of design!!

Before I start, I use canva to do all my graphics. #NotSponsored It’s free and you can do a WHOLE lot of stuff without paying a cent. I’ve been using it for over 2 years and I payed nothing at all! But if you guys wanna pay, go ahead!

TUTORIAL:

I’m going to do this step by step so you don’t miss out anything, if I do or there’s something you feel like I missed, lemme know in the comments! Thanks!

The first thing is to create a design with the size you want it to be, there’s sizes for everything, A4, presentation, Youtube thumbnail, twitter, facebook and instagram posts… I choose always the size 800×480 because it is the size of this blog theme’s featured images.

STEP 1:

Open the “document” if I can call it that. Anyways, this should appear on your screen:

STEP 2:

I always or almost always use images that either I own or I just download them from the internet. So you have to click “upload your own images” and choose the one you want. I chose food cause I like food. I took this picture about a week ago.

STEP 3:

If you feel like the image is too dark or the colors aren’t too vibrant, you can edit it. You can choose filters or adjust it manually. I always adjust it manually, or choose a filter and adjust it.

STEP 4:

This is a trick I use a lot. Most times I want the image in the background to have a main color, it doesn’t have to be natural, you can use purple or green, but I’m gonna choose salmon.

It’s basically dragging a square, make it the color you want, make it transparent (you can also adjust transparency) and expand it all over the previous picture. It looks really pretty, and it makes the background more neutral so you can focus more on the title.

There’s quite some steps you need to follow and I’m just gonna show you the images, I think they’re pretty self explanatory.

STEP 5:

Add the title! This is like word, powerpoint and all that stuff, you can choose the font, the color, you can even set the text bold or italic, you can adjust it to the center, right, left… Easy!

For the featured word, I chose the font “Bebas Neue” and for the rest, I chose the famous “Amatic Small Caps”, I used to be obsessed with it, now I try to use a larger variety cause I don’t want to tire you with the same stuff, it gets repetitive.

That could be done, it looks quite pretty! But I want to keep going cause I want this to be as hepful as possible!

STEP 6:

I want to sort of highlight the main word with the same square we used before, I’m not gonna make it transparent, but I’m gonna have to change the color of the word and turn it salmon so it matched the background.

STEP 7:

Now we’re technically done. We just need to set the image a name and download it!

FINAL LOOK:

This is what your design will look like after you download it. Finishing and then taking a look at it when it’s done kinda gives me a feeling or satisfaction, I just love it!

And that’s a wrap on the tutorial! I hope you liked it. Hope it wasn’t too long or too short. I had a lot of fun making it, maybe I’ll do more in the future, what do you think? Should I? Do I suck at it? Again, if there’s anything I didn’t explain well or you don’t understand, tell me in the comments!

Special thanks to Kiya for requesting this post, she told me more than once to do a tutorial! Check her out btw! She also makes great designs!

That’s all for this post, thank you so much for reading, also huge thanks to everyone who requested this post and again, sorry for having done it so late! I hope you have an amazing day!

BYE GUYS!

I have one question though, how do you find out the featured image size for my theme? Once I know that I’m going to start using Canva PRONTO! Thanks again😄😄
