I hope you’re having a great day! So yesterday I went through some of my posts because I feel like there’s many series I’m not really continuing anymore, so let’s fix that!
One of those series was about me recreating some of my friends drawings yaaay!
You know this trend on youtube of people trying to copy other people’s Instagram pictures? I’d love to do that but A) I don’t have a youtube channel B) I can’t show my face in pics on the internet until I’m 18 C) Maybe my friends won’t let me share their pics D) This is different! This is better!
Today I’m going to recreate my friend Monica’s @ MonicaIsKawaii drawings. *pssst, follow her blog*
Anyway let’s start!
Recreating Monica’s Drawings!
DISCLAIMER: I’m not taking credit of the drawings nor trying to make them better than the originals, they’re other people’s creations. I just thought it would be fun to recreate them as an experiment. I even asked them for permission to share them here! 😊 So yeah, click the links to visit their blogs!
Her drawings are on the left, and mine are on the right, just to clarify..
Ok so this first one, I didn’t draw and put the little pictures on top of each other as she did it, whoops! As you can tell, I kinda effed up the tree on top, I’m not the best at watercolor, I probably needed a finer paintbrush. 😅 She probably also used a ruler to draw the squares, or maybe she just tried to make them manually as straight as possible.
Let’s avoid the fact that her pic is dark because it’s a night pic and mine is light, but these are drawing recreations, not picture recreations!
I think the color is pretty different, I think I should’ve pigmented it a little more. Also, my circle looks like an amorphous football. 😅 Also, my trees are cone pines and hers are more natural lol. I also forgot to do a little shadow in the sky.
This one is my favorite!!
I love this! It’s very original, I love that it comes out of the paintbrush and has the gradient and also the stars and trees!!!! 💖 💖 I love when people paint like galaxies with watercolor, how even? I need to take tutorials.
This one took me a long time to do because the 3 color gradient was something I had never done, but I thin I didn’t do so badly for being my first time. 😛
I really liked these paintings, especially the last one!! I also loved doing gradients on the first one!!! Maybe the middle seemed easier, but to me, drawing shapes with watercolor is a big challenge.
Also, sorry for the fact that the paper I used was crapped up, it was not specialized for watercolor, I’ll fix that.
I think I kind of achieved almost the same colors as she used! I’m proud of that! 😊 I had to mix colors a couple times, which is really hard omg I always get anxiety cause I usually ruin it!!!! 😭 😭
Actually Monica hasn’t posted these drawings on her blog, she has an Instagram account where she shares her art, it’s @missette.art
Share your thoughts with me!
Do you like Monica’s paintings? Do you think I did them well? Do you know any one that does art that you wanted me to try to recreate? Do you like painting or drawing? Tell me everything!!!
I hope you liked this post as much as I had fun making these recreations!! Thanks Monica for letting me do this! I hope y’all have an amazing day/night and a great next week!
